Ο Εδουάρδος Γεωργίου γεννήθηκε το 1968. Ήδη από το 1983 δουλεύει ως βοηθός σκηνογράφος. Παράλληλα με τις σπουδές του στην Αρχιτεκτονική σχολή του ΕΜΠ δουλεύει ως σκηνογράφος και ενδυματολόγος για διάφορες μικρές και μεγάλες παραγωγές. Από το 1994 ως το 2002, μετά από μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές σκηνογραφίας στην Αρχιτεκτονική Σχολή του Clermont-Ferrand, ζει και εργάζεται στην Γαλλία. Για δύο χρόνια ήταν ο σκηνογράφος του θιάσου L’arbre à Nomades στο Παρίσι. Από το 2002 ζει στην Ελλάδα και έχει σκηνογραφήσει πάνω από 60 έργα. Ανάμεσα σε άλλα, έχει σκηνογραφήσει για τo Εθνικό Θέατρο, το Κρατικό Θέατρο Βορείου Ελλάδας, την Πειραματική Σκηνή της Τέχνης στη Θεσσαλονίκη, το ΔΗΠΕΘΕ Αγρινίου, την ΕΘΑΛ και το ΘΟΚ στην Κύπρο με σκηνοθέτες, ανάμεσα σε άλλους, τον Χρ. Σιοπαχά, τον Π. Ζηβανό, τον Β. Νικολαΐδη, τον Στ. Κοτσίκο, τη Μ. Ζήρα, τον Μ. Τίγκιλη, τη Λ. Μαλένη, τον Π. Λάρκου, τον Α. Φλωρίδη και τον Τ. Τζαμαργιά. Έχει σκηνογραφήσει, μεταξύ άλλων, έργα των Σοφοκλή, Τσέχοφ, Μαριβώ, Νόελ Κάουαρντ, Χάρολντ Πίντερ, Άλαν Έηκμπορν, Αζίζ Νεσίν, Πόλα Βόγκελ, Χανόχ Λεβίν, Μάρτιν Μακ Ντόνα, Λούλας Αναγνωστάκη, Άλκης Ζέη, Στίβεν Κίνγκ και Κάρλο Γκολντόνι. Από το 2002 ως το 2009 ήταν ο σκηνογράφος του Θιάσου Παντούμ όπου δούλεψε κυρίως για παραστάσεις πειραματικού θεάτρου και θεάματα δρόμου.
Το 2008 τιμήθηκε με το κυπριακό κρατικό βραβείο θεάτρου για τη σκηνογραφία του στο έργο του Πίντερ Γυρισμός, παραγωγή της ΕΘΑΛ. Έχει συμμετάσχει τέσσερεις φορές στην Διεθνή Έκθεση Σκηνογραφίας Quatrennale της Πράγας με την κυπριακή και την ελληνική εθνική αποστολή. Έχει τιμηθεί με το κυπριακό κρατικό βραβείο θεάτρου ως ο Δημιουργός της Χρονιάς για το 2022.
Για το σινεμά σκηνογράφησε το 2010 την ταινία του Ηλία Δημητρίου Fish n’ Chips και το 2021 την ταινία της Ασημίνας Προέδρου Πίσω από τις Θημωνιές.
Στον τομέα της σκηνογραφίας εκθέσεων και μουσειακών χώρων έχει σχεδιάσει και σκηνογραφήσει το 1999 την επετειακή διαδραστική έκθεση για τα 100 χρόνια της Τράπεζας Κύπρου και έχει σχεδιάσει το 2004 την ανακαίνιση του Χώρου Μνήμης του Μπλόκου της Κοκκινιάς στη Νίκαια.
Είναι ιδρυτικό μέλος της Ένωσης Σκηνογράφων Ενδυματολόγων Θεάτρου και Παραστατικών Τεχνών Ελλάδας.
Το 2016 συνέγραψε το εκπαιδευτικό υλικό για το Πρόγραμμα Συμπληρωματικής Εξ αποστάσεων Εκπαίδευσης με τίτλο «Σκηνογραφία και Ενδυματολογία» του ΕΚΠΑ-ΕΛΚΕ και για το οποίο είναι ο διδάσκων ως σήμερα. Από το 2018 διδάσκει το μάθημα της Σκηνογραφίας στην Ανώτερη Σχολή Δραματικής Τέχνης – Νέο Ελληνικό Θέατρο Γιώργος Αρμένης.

Edouard Georgiou was born in 1968. In 1983 he had already begun working as an Assistant Set Designer. When he was a student at the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens (Metsovio Polytechnio) he worked as a Set and Costume Designer. Between 1994 and 2002, following his MA in Scenography at the Clermont-Ferrand School of Architevture, he lived and worked in France, where for two years he was the Head Designer of the L’Arbre à Nomades Theatre Company in Paris. Since 2002 he lives and works in Greece where he designed the scenography of more than 60 performances. Among others he has created the set and costume designs for productions in Greek National Theatre, Thessaloniki’s Art Theatre, DIPETheatre of Agrinio in Greece, ETHAL and National Theatre in Cyprus. He worked with important Greek and Cypriot directors such as: Ch. Siopachas, P. Zivanos, V. Nikolaides, St. Kotsikos, M. Zira, M. Tigkilis, L. Maleni, P. Larkou, A. Floridis and T. Tzamargias. He designed for plays of writers such as Sophocles, Tchekhoff, Marivaux, Noël Coward, Harold Pinter, Alan Ayckbourn, Aziz Nesin, Paula Vogel, Hannoh Levin, Martin McDonagh, Stephen King, Dennis Kelly and Nina Raine. From 2002 to 2008 he was the scenographer of PANDOUM Theatre Company designing several experimental theatre projects and street theatre.
In 2008 he was presented with Cyprus Theatre Award for his set in Pinter’s Homecoming production of ETHAL in Limassol and 2022 as the Artist of the Year 2022. He participated in the Prague Quadrennial co-representing Cyprus three times.
For the cinema, in 2010 he was the Art Director for Elias Demetriou’s film Fish n’ Chips and in 2021 he was the Production Designer for Assimina Proedrou’s film Behind the Haystacks.
In 1999 he designed an interactive exhibition for the centennial anniversary of the Bank of Cyprus. In 2004 he designed the Kokkinia Blockade Memorial Museum.
He is a foundation member of the Greek Theatre Designers Association.
Since 2016 he teaches the e-learning program “Scenography and Costume Design” of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and since 2018 he also teaches Scenography at the New Hellenic Theatre/Drama School.

Edouard Georgiou a été né en 1968. Dès 1983 il travaille comme scénographe assistant. Parallèlement à ses études d’architecture à l’Ecole Polytechnique d’Athènes il travaille comme scénographe pour plusieurs petites et grandes productions. De 1994 à 2002, après des études post-diplôme en scénographie à l’Ecole d’Architecture de Clermont-Ferrand, il vit et travaille en France. Pendant deux ans il est le scénographe de la compagnie L’arbre à nomades. Depuis 2002 il vit en Grèce où il a travaillé pour plus de 60 productions. Parmi d’autres, il a travaillé pour le Théâtre National de Grèce, le Théâtre d’Art en Thessalonique, le Théâtre Municipal d’Agrinio, le Theatre de Lemessos (ETHAL) et le Théâtre National de Chypre (THOC). Il a collaboré avec de metteurs en scène comme Ch. Siopachas, P. Zivanos, V. Nikolaides, St. Kotsikos, M. Zira, M. Tigkilis, L. Maleni, P. Larkou, A. Floridis et T. Tzamargias. Il a travaillé, entre d’autres, sur pièces de Sophocle, Tchekhoff, Marivaux, Noël Coward, Harold Pinter, Alan Ayckbourn, Aziz Nesin, Paula Vogel, Hannoh Levin, Martin McDonagh, Stephen King, Dennis Kelly et Nina Raine. Entre 2002 et 2009, il travaille comme scénographe de la compagnie de théâtre de rue grecque Pandoum.
En 2008 il a été primé à Chypre pour sa scénographie pour la pièce de Harold Pinter Homecoming. Il a participé quatre fois à la Quadriennale Exposition Mondial de Scénographie avec la délégation nationale chypriote et la délégation nationale grecque. Il a été primé à Chypre comme Artiste de l’année 2022.
Au cinéma, en 2010 il a été le Directeur Artistique pour le film d’Ilias Dimitriou Fish n’Chips et en 2021, le Directeur Artistique du film Behind the Haystacks d’Assimina Proedrou.
Dans le domaine de scénographie pour expo et musées il a dessiné, en 1999, l’exposition interactive pour le centenaire de la Banque de Chypre et en 2004 le lieu de mémoire pour le Blocage de Kokkinia. Il est membre fondateur de l’Union de Scénographes Grecs.
Depuis 2016 il enseigne scénographie au programme d’enseignement par distance de l’Université Nationale et Capodistrienne d’Athènes et depuis 2018 il enseigne scénographie à Nouveau Théâtre Hellénique / Ecole de Théâtre.
